Protect Your Paint. Drive Without Worry.
Clear, self-healing film that takes the rock chips, road debris and bug etching so your factory paint doesn't. Precision plotter-cut and installed by the owner in our indoor Grover Beach studio.
Paint protection film (PPF, sometimes called "clear bra") is an optically clear thermoplastic urethane (TPU) film applied directly over your vehicle's painted surfaces. Once installed, it becomes a durable, sacrificial layer that takes the hits your paint would otherwise take.
It helps protect against rock chips, road debris, light scratches, bug splatter and staining from things like bird droppings and tree sap. Quality films also have a self-healing top layer: minor surface marks and light swirls can fade away with heat from the sun or warm water.
PPF is the only paint protection that adds real physical thickness to your finish.
A tough urethane layer absorbs impacts from gravel, road debris and highway grit before they reach your clear coat.
Minor surface marks and light swirls in the film's top layer can disappear with heat from the sun or warm water.
Optically clear film keeps your factory color and gloss. Most people will never know it's there.
If the film gets damaged, the panel can be re-filmed instead of repainted, and your original paint stays protected underneath.
Ceramic coatings are excellent for gloss, easier washing and chemical resistance, but they are measured in microns. They can't stop a rock at highway speed.
PPF adds a physical, impact-absorbing layer that can take the hit, so it's the right choice where chips happen: hood, bumper, mirrors, door edges and headlights. For the best of both, we can ceramic coat right over the film.

Both films get the same prep, the same plotter-cut patterns and the same owner-performed installation. The difference is the film tier and its warranty term.
Proven protection for daily drivers, work vehicles and anyone who wants quality film at a lower entry point.
Our top-tier film for owners who plan to keep their vehicle long-term and want the longest coverage term we offer.
Film availability, exact warranty coverage and manufacturer terms are confirmed in writing with every quote. Not sure which to choose? We'll help you decide based on how you drive and how long you plan to keep the vehicle.
Film magnifies whatever is underneath it, so most of the work happens before the first piece of film ever touches your vehicle.

We walk the vehicle with you under studio lighting, note existing chips, repaint and defects, and confirm coverage and film choice.

A thorough hand wash and chemical and mechanical decontamination removes embedded grime, iron and tar so the film bonds to clean paint.
Covered panels are prepped and, when needed, polished so swirls and haze aren't sealed under the film. Correction is quoted after inspection.
Vehicle-specific patterns are cut on our commercial plotter, adjusted where practical to wrap edges for a cleaner finish.
Film is positioned, squeegeed and heat-set by hand in our indoor studio with minimal cutting on the vehicle.
Every edge is checked under lighting before pickup, and you leave with clear aftercare instructions for the curing period.
AGD uses vehicle-specific digital patterns and a professional commercial plotter to cut each piece of film before it goes on your vehicle. That means consistent shapes, accurate sensor and emblem cutouts, and far less risk than trimming film with a blade on your paint.
Where practical, patterns are modified and edges are wrapped around panel edges for a cleaner, less visible finish. We minimize cutting on the vehicle and avoid unnecessary disassembly. Some seams and visible edges may still remain depending on the panel shape and vehicle design, and we'll show you where before we start.
Precise, repeatable pieces cut off the vehicle. Minimal knife work on your paint.
Trimmed on the car with a blade. Results depend heavily on the installer and add risk to the paint.
We'd rather set expectations up front than surprise you at pickup. Here is what every PPF customer should know.
It greatly reduces damage from everyday road debris, but it is a protective layer, not armor plating.
Large rocks at speed, collisions or sharp objects can go through the film or dent the panel underneath.
Light surface marks can heal with heat. Deep scratches or cuts through the film cannot.
On larger or complex panels, seams or film edges may be visible up close, especially on darker colors.
Film doesn't fill chips or deep scratches. Existing damage may still be visible, which is why prep and correction matter.
Aftermarket paint may need extra cure time and can be at higher risk when film is removed later. Please tell us about any repaint.
Regular, safe hand washing keeps film clear and looking its best. Neglect, harsh chemicals or improper pressure washing near edges can shorten its life.
PPF is physical impact protection. Ceramic coating is hydrophobic, environmental protection that makes maintenance easier. Here's how they compare.
| Paint Protection Film | Ceramic Coating | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Clear urethane film applied over paint | Liquid coating that bonds to the clear coat |
| Rock chips & road debris | Yes. Absorbs physical impacts | No. Too thin to stop impacts |
| Light scratches & swirls | Yes. Self-healing top layer for minor marks | Some resistance to light wash marring |
| Bugs, droppings & sap | Yes. Physical barrier against staining | Yes. Chemical resistance, easier removal |
| Water beading & easy washing | Better when topped with ceramic | Yes. Strong hydrophobic behavior |
| UV & oxidation | Yes. Covers the painted surface | Yes. UV protection for the clear coat |
| Typical coverage | High-impact areas or selected panels | Entire vehicle, plus glass, wheels and trim |
| Best for | Highway driving, new vehicles, chip-prone front ends | Gloss, easier maintenance, everyday environmental protection |
The strongest setup combines both: PPF on the high-impact areas, and ceramic coating over the film and the rest of the vehicle. The film handles chips and physical wear, and the coating adds gloss and water beading and makes every wash faster and safer.
As a GYEON-certified ceramic coating studio, AGD can plan both services together so prep is done once and everything is installed in the right order.
When you call, you talk to the owner. When you drop off your vehicle, the owner installs your film. That's rare, and it's why we can stand behind the work.
We intentionally limit how many vehicles we take so each one gets the time it needs.

Pricing depends on the coverage you choose, the vehicle's size and body shape, the film tier (7-Year or 12-Year Legend) and the condition of the paint. Because every vehicle is different, we quote each one individually. Send us your vehicle details and a few photos, or call (805) 627-3137, and we'll give you a clear, itemized quote.
Lifespan depends on the film tier you choose, how the vehicle is stored and driven, sun exposure and how it's maintained. We offer a 7-Year PPF and a Premium 12-Year Legend PPF. Exact warranty coverage and terms are provided in writing with your quote.
Yes, for minor surface marks. The film's top layer allows light scratches and swirls in the film to fade with heat from the sun or warm water. Self-healing does not repair deep scratches or cuts that go through the film.
Yes. Professionally installed film can be professionally removed from healthy factory paint. Removal from repainted or previously damaged paint carries more risk, which is why we ask about paint history during inspection.
Often, yes, with extra care. Fresh paint needs to fully cure before film is applied, and aftermarket paint may not bond as strongly as factory paint, which can matter if the film is removed later. Let us know about any repaint so we can inspect it and set the right expectations.
We wrap edges wherever practical and use vehicle-specific patterns to minimize visible lines. Some seams and edges may still be visible up close, depending on panel size, shape and color. We'll point out where they'll be before we start.
Pre-cut (plotter-cut) patterns are designed for your specific vehicle and cut by machine before installation, so there's minimal blade work on your paint. Bulk installs are hand-trimmed on the vehicle. They can wrap more edges but rely on cutting directly on the paint. AGD uses plotter-cut patterns and modifies them where practical to wrap edges, which balances clean coverage with paint safety.
Yes, and we recommend it. A coating over the film adds gloss and water beading and makes washing easier. As a GYEON-certified studio, we can plan PPF and ceramic together so everything is prepped and installed in the right order.
New film needs time to settle and cure. You may notice small moisture pockets or slight haze in the first days, which normally clears on its own as the film dries. We'll give you written aftercare instructions at pickup, including when your first wash is safe based on your film and the weather.
We're currently offering individual panels, headlights and our High-Impact package. Full Front and Full Vehicle packages are coming soon. Join the waitlist through the quote form and we'll contact you first when we open bookings.
